Staples and sutures are used to hold a surgical site or other wound closed, to facilitate healing. One important step in patient recovery is the removal of such sutures at the specific time, typically when the wound is healed completely, so as to avoid inflammation, scarring and other complications. This is mainly required in the case of non-absorbable sutures.

Suture removal can be done at home by one of our experienced nurses.  This can help to reduce anxiety in patients and is ideal for patients with reduced mobility.

Suture removal typically includes the following steps:

  • Interact with the patient to make him/her feel comfortable.
  • Assessment of wound healing
  • Removal of stitches using sterile instruments and removal of staples with staple removers
  • Explanation of post stitch removal care plan
  • In case of large number of sutures or infected suture/incision lines the team would also recommend dressing or admission depending on the need.

When a patient can’t eat or swallow, they may need to have a nasogastric tube inserted. This process is known as nasogastric (NG) intubation. The condition of patients fed by nasogastric tube (NG tube) often makes it difficult or impossible for them to visit a health center. Our nursing in home service provides insertion, removal and replacement of the gastric probe service without patient leaving home.

During NG intubation, a nurse will insert a thin plastic tube through your nostril, down your esophagus, and into your stomach. Once this tube is in place, they can use it to give you food and medicine. For an increased sense of comfort and constant supervision, our professionals can perform these procedures at home.

Our skilled nurses will ensure that patients receive appropriate IV therapy and monitor their condition during the infusion and you do not have to worry about travel costs and expensive hospital stays.

IntraVenous (IV) therapy, also known as infusion therapy, involves the administration of medication and IV fluids as per the recommendation of the primary physician.

Even with no other medical requirement, patients often end up staying at a clinic just to obtain IV fluids, as the flow of the fluids needs to be monitored closely. With home IV therapy, a registered nurse visits the patient’s home to set up the IV to administer fluids like saline, dextrose or antibiotics. The team coordinates all necessary arrangements for medication, supplies, and equipment needed for successful administration at home.

The timing and frequency of the nurse visit depends on the needs of the individual as prescribed by their doctors. Home IV services also include peripheral catheter insertion, venipuncture  and care of central catheter lines.

The catheter allows your healthcare provider to give you multiple doses of medication safely, without the need to poke you with a needle each time.

Depending on the recovery, patients can get back to their usual routine and, in some cases, even return to work while still on therapy.

Catheters are a medical device and are prescribed by doctors to treat diseases or perform a surgical procedure.

In urinary catheterization, the catheter is placed inside the bladder through the urethra to allow the urine to pass out of the body. This process can become necessary after a surgery or during hospitalization.

Most catheters are necessary until one regains the ability to urinate on one’s own. Generally, they are used for a short period of time. Elderly persons and those with a permanent injury or severe illness may need to use urinary catheters for a longer time or even permanently.

Nursing services for urinary catheterization are now available at home for better health and comfort of the patients. Our nurses are well trained to prevent the risk of tripping, pressure injuries, or any other discomforts to the patients during the procedure. They are skilled in handling the catheterization procedure, from the insertion of a catheter to monitoring and removal.

Our nurses guide the patients to follow a strict regimen for the prescribed diet and fluid intake, as this can affect drainage from the urinary catheter. They also educate the patient and the patient’s family about the care of the catheter.

Injections are part of common healthcare procedure. Injections are normally used to inject drugs, vaccines, contraceptives or other therapeutic agents into the body. Injections should be carried out safely so that they don’t cause any harm to the patient as well as to the nurse. That is why we make sure our nurses follow standard protocols, safety procedures and properly discard the vials and syringes.

Our mobile nursing service performs subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular and intravenous injections at the patient’s home. Using the services minimizes the stress associated with a visit to the clinic or emergency room.
